similarities in mustached uncle

who wears a corrosive olive beret,

a rifle is handed between

his prayers for peace

on scabbed knees

inside incensed homes

desperately seeking

tongues becoming

blue to spout piercing

lovely bullets,

itching

to cry, again,

when I abandon him

to balance space

between skin and blood
