In Your Eyes - Ariana Jones

An overhead view of a white coffee cup. The cup sits on a white saucer upon a white table.

eyes with a color so deep

one would wonder,

if there’s any warmth behind them.

inky and cold, carrying much intensity

yet they soften when meeting mine.

never did i ever care for brown eyes

not even for my own, until you.

no longer is brown dull and boring

but a rich color like the earth

keeping me grounded.

doe brown eyes,

that matches my morning coffee

finding warmth and comfort

in your eyes.
