Abuelita - Jordan Solis

A close-up image of a mug of hot chocolate, with marshmallows covering the top.

I asked my mom,

¿Qué chocolate hace mi abuelita?

“Grandma's con leche y sin otra cosa.”

I got cocoa powder and tried it with milk.

Nothing but sugar and sweets as I sipped warm silk.

But this was not how I remembered, so I tried with water.

Same thing but washed down, I should call her!

I tried it with ice to no change or shift.

I took so long, grandma came to visit.

“¿Mijo do you want some chocolate caliente con esa concha?”

Por favor, I stared and watched in a world silenciosa.

She grabbed the milk and heated it in a pot.

She’s old but this might be the secret I want.

She reached for her purse and pulled out a bag.

“¿Tu mama said that you asked for the recipe?

I don’t do anything, just follow the tag.”

It all made sense when I tasted destiny.

Abuelita was the brand that grandma made splendidly!
